Executive Director – Mr.Abdiwahab Ibrahim
Mr.Abdiwahab Ibrahim has worked extensively in Somalia before and after the fall of the government in 1992. Before the fall of the central government, he was a lecturer at the Lafole University in Mogadishu. With the fall of the central government in Somalia and the emergence of a great need for humanitarian assistance in the country, Mr.Abdiwahab and fellow compatriots formed the Jubbalandese Charity Centre (JCC) with a view to empowering the lives of the vulnerable communities of the Horn of Africa.
As the humanitarian response in Somalia was getting underway, Mr.Abdiwahab benefitted for a scholarship for PCM training in the Netherlands where he acquired project management skills. Upon completion of his course, he was employed by OxFAMNovib where he was involved in implementing various interventions in Somalia and Sudan. He holds a Masters Degree from the Kenya Methodist University and has recently embarked on steps towards pursuing a PHD at the same University.
Currently, he is in charge of the senior management at JCC and translates the board’s policy guidance to action. He thus oversees the day to day management of the organization.
Finance and Admin Manager – M/s Khadija Ahmed Hassan
Ms.Khadija Ahmed holds a MBA in Finance from the University of Nairobi, and a BBAManagement (with a minor in Finance), from the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton. She has over four years of finance experience. She has previously worked in the Corporate Sector-Banking (Kenya Commercial Bank and First Community Bank).
During her tenure, JCC has introduced an automated financial system which has greatly improved the operation of the programmes and increased the efficiency of the organization.
Senior Programme Coordinator – Mr.Wanderi J. Karira
Mr.Wanderi J. Karira holds aMsc in Agricultural and Applied Economics, and a Bsc in Agriculture (Economics option), both from the University of Nairobi. He has over five years of Programme and Project design, implementation and monitoring and evaluation experience in the Non-governmental sectors in Kenya and Somalia. He has worked at both the policy discourse level and the humanitarian sector. He also has extensive experience in dealing with donors and managing partnerships with stakeholders and other partners.
Under his initiative, JCC has adopted simple but innovative and highly effective approach towards the design and implementation of interventions in Somalia. Through this approach and with the able guidance of the Executive Director and the assistance of the Finance and Admin Manager, JCC has initiated a process of moving towards disaster recovery and development oriented intervention approaches.
He is tasked with day to day oversight of the organization’s projects and programs as well as the design and conceptualization of new projects. He is also tasked with supervision of the project staff and offers guidance in the implementation of programmes and projects. Together with the Executive Director and the rest of JCC’s Senior Management, he is involved in managing donor and stakeholder relationships as well as representing the organization in meetings and forums with stakeholders, partners, donors and the governments that it deals with.
Programme Manager: Nutrition and Health – Matilda C. Kirui
Mrs. Matilda C. Kirui is a registered nutritionist and holds a Msc. in Foods, Nutrition and Dietetics from Kenyatta University and a Bsc. in Foods and Nutrition from the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton. She has a wide experience in both Clinical and Community Nutrition including project cycle management and, nutrition and health surveillance.
Matilda is involved in the management of Health and Nutrition programs, and in this regard, she stepped up activities in the health and nutrition programs to address emerging gaps that were present and not addressed earlier. She is also mandated to supervise project officers mostly based in the field as well as representing JCC in meetings related to the health and nutrition programs.
