Wordvision

In 2005, in collaboration with World Vision, JCC implemented seed distribution project in 13 riverine villages in Buale districts. The project, which was funded by HRF, provided enough viable seeds to flood affected communities. In early 2006, JCC jointly with WVI has implemented seed distribution project in Jilib and Saakow riverine and agro-pastoral villages.

JCC field team participated in several organizational capacity building trainings supported by Oxfam. In addition to small grants for office equipment and supplies, the training programs provided JCC institutional capacity and staff development opportunities. These additional trainings and facilities gave JCC additional skills to manage its projects and resources even more effectively.


 

In December 2006 JCC implemented Oxfam Novib funded HIV/AIDS awareness program in Bu’ale, Salagle and Saakow towns. Series of workshops and seminars was organized for various community groups in these districts.

 

 


 

COSVcosv

In early 2006 JCC and COSV have jointly implemented cash for work program through which communal dams and water catchments in pastoral areas of Middle Juba region were rehabilitated. JCC and COSV have also implemented introduction of sheep farming into the riverine livelihood zone \of Middle Juba region. In late 2006, JCC and COSV jointly implement small farmers’ support project in riverine areas of Bu’ale, Saakow and Salagle. The project provide assorted vegetable seeds, maize and cowpeas seed as and helped small farmers open up more than 3,000 hectares of land for cultivation.

From March 2006 to July 2007 JCC in collaboration with COSV implemented seven projects funded by the HRF in Middle Juba region. Although COSV was the principle applicant of the projects, JCC has identified needs, developed proposals, sensitized communities and successfully implemented all these projects


 

In early 2007, JCC implemented UNICEF funded community sanitation program in Bu’ale, Saakow and Salagle towns while in early 2008 JCC implemented distribution of non food items to IDPs in Yeed, Aato, Elberde and, Rabdhure districts of Bakool regions.

JCC is implementing one year (March 2009 to March 2010) project on Emergency water, Sanitation and Hygiene promotion funded by UNICEF in Middle Jubba Region Southern Somali.

 

In May 2007, JCC implemented a river embankment and flood protection projects in Middle Juba region. This was funded by the HRF.HRF also funded a seed distribution project in 2005.

In 2009, JCC and FAO implemented an Emergency Support for IDPs and Destitute Women Headed Drought- Affected Households project in Bakool Region, Southern Somali.

 


 

 

      In  July 2014 to date, JCC and IGAD has been implementing  Sustainable Access to water and Livelihood Support Services and Institutions in  Somalia.


 

 

 

Since May 2013 to date, JCC has been implementing project for Support to Economic Empowerment of the Youth to Enable their Participation in Economic and Socio-Political Reconstruction and Recovery in Middle Jubba.
