Infant and Maternal Health

The nine month period leading to birth and a year or two thereafter are key periods which require optimal health for both mother and child. Of these, the type of healthcare during the last trimester and the first six months of a newly born are key periods during which round the clock monitoring of the pregnancy and the newly born respectively is required with the 48 hour period before birth and the subsequent 48 period after birth being the most critical in determining whether mother and infant lives. Towards this, with support from partners, JCC is continually providing infant and maternal health to the communities in Bu’ale and Salagle districts through the two MCHs and health posts it operates. Currently, JCC is seeking support for the establishment of a mobile health clinic services to cover the basic, infant and maternal health needs of remote communities located far away from the health static health facilities in the two districts.
